Antisemitism Book is 87% Funded; Also, Join Me in a Zoom Call Tomorrow
With just 12 days left in our campaign, "From Outrage to Action: A Practical Guide to Fighting Antisemitism" is 87 percent funded! Your support has brought us this far, and I am confident that together, we'll reach and even surpass our goal. If you haven’t donated yet, now is the time to do it. I’d love to get the attention of Kickstarter’s algorithm that detects surges in donations.
My apologies for so many posts about my Kickstarter. I'm out of my comfort zone, being all pushy and "salesy," but it's what I've been advised to do if this campaign is to succeed!
Join Me for a Special Talk Tomorrow at Noon EST
I'm excited to invite you to a conversation with Leah Eichler of Esoterica Magazine, where we'll delve into the topic: "Should You Kickstart Your Book Project?" This discussion is particularly timely as we navigate the final stretch of our own Kickstarter journey.
Here's what Leah wrote about our upcoming talk:
Rather than find a traditional publisher, as Lovy did with his debut novel, which is coming out in 2025 from Vine Leaves Press (You can read an excerpt on Esoterica Mag that we ran earlier this year) — he decided to Kickstart the project.
In tomorrow’s Zoom interview, the last of the year, we will discuss:
Why kickstart a book project? What are the risk and benefits?
The nitty gritty of how to kickstart a project?
Can you still find a traditional publisher? Would you want to?
What happens if it doesn’t hit the target amount?
And more! Join the Zoom and ask Howard your own questions.
Local NPR Interview and Op-Ed
In other news, I recently gave an interview with my local NPR station about what can be done at the local level to fight antisemitism. Unfortunately, due to illness at the station, the segment won't air until after our campaign ends. However, it's an important conversation that complements the thoughts I shared in a recent op-ed for the Traverse City Record Eagle. While the full article is behind a paywall, you can read excerpts and more about local action against antisemitism here.
Your Role is More Crucial Than Ever
As we head into these crucial final days, your role in spreading the word becomes even more vital. Please continue to share our campaign with friends, family, colleagues, and allies. Every new backer brings us closer to our goal and strengthens our communal effort.
