On September 2, Canary Publishing officially launched with an online event. Some five hundred people attended — a good sign for what comes next.
Andrew Pessin moderated the conversation with me and Scott Shay. We covered why the press exists, what kinds of books we’re looking for, how we plan to reach readers, and what makes a book “Jewish enough” for Canary Publishing. We also took audience questions — more than a hundred came in, and since we couldn’t get to them all in an hour, I’ll be answering more of them in the weeks ahead.
The full video and an edited transcript are now up on the Canary Publishing Substack:

If you haven’t subscribed to the Canary Publishing newsletter yet, that’s where news from the press will appear first — the books, the authors, the announcements. Emet-Truth will remain my personal newsletter.
Thanks to everyone who attended and helped launch this movement. Our voices will be heard.
