Harvard Divinity School graduate found his voice in a speech at the Republican National Convention. His is one of many voices I feature in my upcoming book.
I agree that the Democratic Party faces very real headwinds about Israel/Palestine. However, my despair and sense of loss about the Democrats simply cannot lead me to find a home in the GOP with its embrace of the Orange Autocrat and its base being steeped in Christian supremacy. I feel my time in America may very well be limited.
Oh yes. I was a Red Diaper Baby, born into a Socialist family with a Communist past and leanings in that direction. Even after I discovered my Jewish identity and became observant, I remained part of the progressive world. Now - with the progressive world screaming for the overthrow of Zionist oppression and targeting Jews regardless of their connection to Israel, I feel more angry, alone, and despairing than ever. My only comfort has been the emergence of so many Jews out of the shadows looking for any connection to their people. That's great...and it's a hell of a price to pay.
I honestly son’t see any differences between the two - other than Trump is a little more (lot more) crude. Is arresting and jailing your political opponents on the flimsiest of pretenses any better.
I can understand peoples hesitation to vote for Trump but there is no difference between the parties- the choice is very simple - if you support Israel vote GOP - if you support Iran and Hammas vote Dem - it’s, for jews, as simple as that.
You've been in Germany a long time if you think there's no substantive differences between the two parties. Read Project 2025 and then get back to me. The Democratic Party - for all of my hesitancies re: Israel - is not bringing us Christian fascism
Wonderful article. Shabbos was a highlight at the RNC. He gave me hope for the future. Meanwhile, we will see the downfall of these schools that promote Jew hatred.
Thank you for an excellent article on this courageous young man. I am not Jewish (or Christian or Muslim) and had no idea I was a Zionist until the first week after Oct 7 when I was attacked for speaking out against the pro Hamas mob. The more I learn however, the more I believe that Israel must continue to exist. So I guess you could say I am a strong secular Zionist. I very much relate to the confusion that some of my jewish friends feel about political parties these days as being a member of a federally recognized native American tribe, I have felt this confusion my whole life. Which is why I am an Independent and support RFKjr who also strongly supports Israel. In fact he has gotten alot of flack from his own supporters for doing so and has not backed down on this. I'm not advocating here for RFK, just sharing a bit of my own journey with all this. Just for context, A reporter asked a native elder how he felt after Trump was elected. The elder asked why he should care considering no American president has ever really cared about the tribes so what difference did it make who is in the white house? That was the predominant attitude I was raised with. I think it is true that no political party really cares that much about the natives, but I care about Israel and corporate capture of our government agencies and institutions and I care very much about the health of the environment around me and so I am voting for a candidate that also cares about these things.
If he thinks the Democratic Party is poisoned, how does he think about Republicans supporting a convicted felon and thief of US classified documents he refused to return, who is also an adjudicated rapist, con artist, and who professional psychiatrists claim suffering from increasing dementia ?
It would only take 5 mins of searching to see that this was pure lawfare - I expect the charges to be thrown out on appeal- a harvard law professor of all people did a talk on just how bad the case was -

This is a real dilemma for many of us.

Look forward to your book.

I guess when they are trying to hurt you and your people it’s highly problematic. More than bullshit felonies for paying off a whore.
